What makes ECAS the
best choice for adoption in Eastern Europe?
The fact that our director
is a native of Russia means that she brings to the international
adoption experience valuable personal insight and unique cultural
understanding, enabling us to offer our clients the most efficient,
resourceful services available anywhere. Due to our high worker-to-client
ratio, our families can rest in the fact that they are in a position
of priority and will receive continual care, from initial contact
to post-adoption support. As adoptive parents travel to Eastern
Europe for adoption, they are also offered the bonus of guided opportunities
to appreciate the countries' culture during their travels. Our mission
is to assist and support adoptive families every step of the way
along their adoption journey. Reliable personnel and individual
attention to each client have contributed to our continued success.
At European Children Adoption Services you're not a number in a
file; you're a member of a family.
Who can adopt?
Couples from 25 years
old and upward are allowed to adopt infants from most regions in
Russia. In some Russian regions single women are allowed to adopt
only preschool age children.
In Ukraine, both married and single, women and men, over 24 are
allowed to adopt children of any age.
What is the average
waiting period?
ECAS has a reputation
for sensitivity to our clients and an unusually short waiting period.
Our clients have typically been able to bring their children home
3-8 months after concluding their Home Study. We have a team of
very efficient caseworkers who complete the home study process with
you at a pace consistent with your desires, your schedule, and government
requirements. We believe that ECAS is unsurpassed in quality, individualized
service and effective time frames. Let ECAS help to bring children
into your life soon.
What about traveling
for adoption?
Traveling to your child's
country is part of the excitement of international adoption. Your
American government and your child's government both have specific
requirements with regard to international adoption. In all cases,
both parents must travel to attend adoption court hearings, and
will be provided with translators. Two short trips are required
for adoption from both Russia and Ukraine: one for selection of
a child, and the other for finalization of the adoption in the foreign
court. One parent may return earlier than the other, if necessitated
by your schedule. For details, see Adoption from Russia and Adoption
from Ukraine.
European Children Adoption
Services consistently strives to make your adoption journey efficient,
prompt and enjoyable. Proficient ECAS personnel will make all travel
arrangements and fully prepare adoptive parents for their journey
abroad. Overseas, competent bilingual interpreters will assist you
with logistics at every turn, including room and board, translating,
chauffeuring, and assistance obtaining medical examinations and visas
for children. If you wish, they will also give you tours of the cities
you visit in order to enhance your travel experience.
