Journey of Hope 2009 European Children Adoption Services (ECAS) is pleased to announce a new 2009 summer hosting program for orphans: Journey of Hope, Ukraine. ECAS will work in partnership with a Kiev-based charity fund to bring approximately 15 -20 Ukrainian orphans to stay with host families. Our desire is that the Journey of Hope will result in adoptive parents for these children, either with their host families or others they might meet while they're here. Although program details and dates are still being finalized, the children will likely visit Minnesota for three to four weeks at the end of July/beginning of August. Most children will be between 7 and 11 years old, and sibling groups may also be represented. The hosting program requires a tax deductible donation of $2300 per child to cover their airfare, passport, trip insurance and other program costs. There will likely be one or two children with special needs who will benefit from minor medical or dental assistance. If you, or someone you know, would be willing to volunteer or discount your services for these orphans, please let us know. ECAS will facilitate weekly gatherings for these children to see each other, and for families to share fun and fellowship.
